HISTORY
The rapid spread of COVID-19 in Peru has led to the adoption of new sanitary measures and behavioral changes that, among other things, have limited artisanal fishing activity in many parts of the country. The uncertainty of the sector was deepened by logistical complications and the lack of information to guide the fisherman and owner to organize fishing tasks that minimize the risk of contagion.
This scenario was the one that motivated various actors committed to artisanal fishing to seek specific solutions for the sector. And so, after several virtual meetings, the product of this fraternal and disinterested work is the "Control Guide to prevent the spread or expansion of COVID-19 for artisanal fishing vessels," which is among the materials on this website. . This guide provides a series of recommendations to reduce the risk of contagion of COVID-19 before, during and after the fishing task.
The "Keeping Fishing Covid-19 Free" Campaign was born from the need to transform the information in this Guide into a graphic resource for quick consultation for the target audience. With the creation and free distribution of these materials we hope to help fishermen throughout Peru and the Region to protect themselves, their families and their economic income, while ensuring healthy and good quality products to the public because they are they took all the necessary hygiene measures.

Pesca Libre de Covid-19 is a campaign aimed at the artisanal fishing sector, with the sole purpose of providing information that reduces the risk of contagion or the development of COVID-19 when carrying out their daily fishing activities.
We want to emphasize that this campaign is not a direct invitation to fish but, rather, an invitation to create new habits that help to have safer fishing.
